Help for WavePlayer...
***************************************************
I. Installation.
a. Unpack the zip file into a subdirectory (wavepl ?) to keep
wavepl.exe bundled neatly with help, etc. You certainly can
throw it into the windows directory if you must...
b. Make sure that VBRUN100.DLL is present (in your Windows directory).
c. Install using the Program Manager "new" command.
d. Edit autoexec.bat to insert the following line...
WAVHLP=c:\mwin\wavepl (Substitute the path to YOUR wavepl
subdirectory)
This procedure will enable WavePlayer to find its help files.
II. Running WavePlayer.
When WavePlayer starts up, all you need to do is use the file drive
and directory boxes to point at some .wav files. Select a file,
and click on "Play". You should hear the sound immediately.
The only other buttons are "Help" and "Quit", which should be
self-explanatory.
III. Release Notes
Version 1.0 released on St. Patrick's Day, 1992.
This app was written because the standard MultiMedia apps
supplied with my Pro Audio Spectrum upgrade kit did not
include a fast waveaudio player. WavePlayer uses the
"sndPlaySound" call, which is very quick at opening the
.wav file and playing it. WavePlayer also does not insist
on closing the file access boxes before performing its function.
A big list of .wav files just sits there in front of you,
waiting to be tested.
